The Plain Nightjar in Uganda is one of the African birds of Uganda seen during Uganda birding safaris & Tours. It is a migratory bird species of nightjar in the family Caprimulgidae.

It is a resident in the southern Sahel, Southern Sudan, the Horn of Africa, and the southwestern Arabian Peninsula.

It migrates to areas of lower altitudes like central Congo and northern Tanzania. In Uganda, it can be spotted in Murchison falls national park.
