What to Know About The White-crested Turaco in Uganda?
This is one of the most beautiful African birds in Uganda. The white-crested turaco is a group of African near-passerines in the family Musophagidae. It is spotted when undertaking Uganda birding safaris or birdwatching tours in Africa.
How Does the White-crested Turaco in Uganda Look Like?
The white crested turaco is medium-sized arboreal bird-38cm long and from 140-230 grams, with a special copper pigmentation that make this species red and green in color.
They have two pairs of toes-one pair facing forward and another pair facing backwards. Their toes are flexible and can move to either side. The toes make it easy for them ton grip branches and can even climb.
It is an amazing bird species to see during your birdwatching safari in Uganda and birding tours in Africa.
How Does the White-crested Turaco in Uganda feed?
The white crested turaco is an omnivore species that forages on fruits, seeds, leaves, flowers, caterpillars, moths, beetles, snails and slugs.
