The Crested Francolin in Uganda is one of the African birds in Uganda seen during birding tours in Uganda. This common francolin species is found across much of sub-Saharan Africa and typically measures between 30–35 cm in length. It has a cryptically patterned plumage that provides excellent camouflage, with a white eye stripe, dark crown, white throat, and a tail that is often cocked. Females and juveniles appear slightly duller and lack the spur on the males’ legs. Spotting this bird is a rewarding moment for those on Uganda birdwatching safaris and birdwatching in Uganda.
