The remarkably  diverse country Uganda, is situated in the East African region within the Nile basin along coordinates 1⁰00N and 32⁰00E on both sides of the equator.

Uganda is surrounded by Kenya in the East, Tanzania in the South, the Democratic Republic of Congo in the West, South Sudan in the North and Rwanda in the South West.

Bird species are diverse in Uganda because of the variety in habitats ranging from water bodies like Lakes, Rivers, deep valleys, marshes and swamps, African dense forests to open Savannah.
